the look

Ten minutes before my treatment was supposed to begin, one of the spa staff  members knocked on the door of my villa to pick me up. She gracefully escorted me to another villa deep inside the resort that was prepared to specifically serve as a spa complex. Like all of Kayumanis’s villas, this one is exquisite. Another staff member quickly rinsed my feet before I entered the villa and proceeded into the ground-floor treatment room. The spa villa is a two-storey structure that is equipped with everything you could wish to find in a spa; the foot massage takes place at a section that looks like a very comfortable living room; the massage section is serene, and the bath area is spacious and semi-open air.

the touch

The signature treatment at the spa at Kayumanis Nusa Dua is the Royal Bliss Ritual. This pampering lasts for more than two hours. It begins with a session at the sauna and continues with a very fine foot massage. The full-body massage that comes afterward is topped with a cream bath and a full body scrub. And before you can enjoy your delicious complimentary glass of sparkling wine, there is a beautiful flower bath to take.

If you like your spa date to be shorter and simpler, there are seven different types of massage to choose from on the menu, ranging from a simple traditional Balinese massage, to a healing hot-stone massage or a thorough revitalising massage which lasts for a good two hours.

If you are into body scrub or wrap, the spa offers six different types of ingredients from cinnamon which has anti-ageing qualities, to fresh coconutswhich heal sunburn, to sea-salt which improves blood circulation.

The flagship Kayumanis spa is located in Kayumanis Ubud. It’s through a bridge that offers a breathtaking view of Ubud’s greenery. It’s also much larger than average and the treatments offered are more comprehensive. If you have the time, we highly recommend that you soldier the journey to Ubud and try out the spa there.
