kupu kupu jimbaran suites

where is it?

In Jimbaran.

what’s the resort like?

This hotel boasts a truly unique concept, as its 28 large suites are actually attached to a building that resembles a mall, which we have to confess took us somewhat by surprise on our first visit. Inside, you’ll find an inspiring hotel lobby crafted mostly from bamboo, and after a very short lift ride you’ll find yourself in an open space with plenty of sun and a big blue pool that’s just begging to be used.

what are the suites like?

We tested one of the Muaya Duplex Suites, which turned out to be a charming two-storey affair. The bedroom was downstairs, along with a huge posh-looking bathtub. The living room was upstairs and its adjoining balcony offered great views of the pool. There was nothing to make us feel as if we were living inside a structure that resembled a shopping mall.

what about the facilities?

When you’re here, make sure that you pay a visit to Bamboo Spa by L’Occitane, whose signature bamboo massage should not be missed. Being a “shopping mall” (the space is also called Jimbaran Corner) you’ll also find plenty of other stores on hand, including a bookshop, cafés and clothing stores.

what about food and drink?

Inside the hotel, the Topeng Restaurant and Bar serves international cuisine and each of the menu’s dishes comes with its own by-the-glass wine pairing. The hotel also has a beach club, which is located not far away from the hotel and which boasts sensational views of Jimbaran beach and some delicious mojitos.

Published rates for the Muaya Duplex Suites
start at US$ 340++ per night.
