This year’s Kuta Karnival promises more fun and frolics
in the heart of Kuta as the usual suspects converge once again to celebrate

Indonesian water colour artist Agus Budiyanto exhibits his latest work
titled ‘A Colourful World of Dreams’ until September 27th
at Ganesha Gallery, Four Seasons Jimbaran. As suggested in the title
of this exhibition, in his newest work Budiyanto crosses the borders
between the natural world and that of his dreams. Expect a wide variety
of luminous colours, atmosphere and transparency in this vivid and attention
grabbing exhibition.

Transport yourself to megalithic Sumba at The Viceroy on September 15th
with photographers Ilan Weinblatt and Ari ‘Wekku’ Saaski
as they present a photo journey into the Sumba Pasola Festival. The annual
Pasola festival features colourful horseback riders attacking each other
with wooden spears and is one of West Sumba’s most ancient of rituals
still taking places in the modern era. Profits from photo sales at the
exhibition will be donated to the ‘Sumba Foundation’ to improve
the lives of Sumba’s people through health, education and employment
initiatives. Starts at 5pm.

Bookworms prepare yourselves for a trip into the world of literary wonder
from 25 to 30th September. All manner of adult and kids workshops, lunches
and readings will take place throughout the five days of the festival
culminating in the ‘Sweet Mangoes’ workshop retreat from
1 to 5th October, helmed by celebrated author of ‘Writing Your
Life’ Patti Miller who will help enable those keen to transfer
the multi-dimensional world of senses into written words.
